2025 is (maybe) gonna be my year
a one day writing workshop on day one of the new year, reflecting on life in 2024 & looking forward to the unknown
January 1st, 2025

What the hell just happened? How did another year go by so quickly? We need to write something down before we forget! We’re going to spend the first half of our session looking backwards at the past year, memorialising the scenes and people that felt important to us over the past twelve months, recording our moods, mistakes, triumphs and the circumstances we’ve overcome. And then we’ll look forward to the great unknown that is currently 2025, thinking about time, growth, what we want to write and how we want to live. I know it sounds serious, but it’ll be fun. Let’s start the year as we intend to go on: Writing and meeting other people who write.
This workshop is for writers of any genre, at any level of experience. Maybe you published five novels, maybe you write pop songs, maybe you wrote a poem five years ago. Everyone is welcome.
If you’ve been a member of Zine Writing Club before, hi! Would love to see you. If you’ve wanted to join in the past but couldn’t commit to a six week session, hello! This is your chance. If you’ve never heard of Zine Writing Club, don’t worry. It’s a creative non-fiction writing community, and this is kind of like a one-off special edition of it for New Year’s Day.
If you sign up and then you can’t make it, I will send you the recording so you can participate in your own time. Although, needless to say, I encourage everyone to be there on the 1st of January as it's kind of time sensitive. ;)
Everyone will leave the session with some new, short pieces of writing and refreshed artistic intentions for the future.
Let's take a moment to think and write together.
See you in 2025 :)
Sign up officially closed on the 28th, but I just made that date up. There's still room for one more person,
if you want to join us :)

2025 is (maybe) gonna be my year is led by me, Lucy K Shaw. Hi. I wrote several books including Woman With Hat, Troisième Vague and The Motion. I started Shabby Doll House in 2012. I have edited and published work by hundreds of writers from all over world, first online, and more recently in books too. I also run the Zine Writing Club, a fun, social, creative non-fiction workshop. You can read a little more about me & Shabby Doll House here, or listen to me talk about it here.
